CALLIOPE CAL 3016
SESSIONS, LIVE

STUFF SMITH / CARMEN MCRAE - ALLYN FERGUSON / JERI SOUTHERN

“Stars of Jazz” was broadcast live on Channel 7 (American Broadcasting Company) Monday nights from 10:30 to 11:00.  The choice of Monday night was deliberate on the part of the producers as Monday was the “off night” at most Los Angeles jazz clubs when the featured jazz artist had the night off thus making them available to appear on “Stars of Jazz.”  Our media presentation below is from the Los Angeles Times, Mirror-News TV Radio section of August 27, 1957.
